Matthew Madison ROSE was born October 29, 1829 in Lawrence County, Ohio to Henry Rose and Esther Ann Delanter. He married Lydia Margaret Whaley on April 18, 1850 in Jackson County, Ohio. Eleven known children were born to them, Sebird (born Febraury 15, 1853 and died in 1854 in Jackson County, Ohio, Genetta Virginia, Stephen A., Archibald Aaron, Henry H., (born April 8, 1861 and died 1865 in Jackson County, Ohio) George David, William M., Zachariah Jones, Andrew Jackson, Solomon Franklin, and Rose Etta. He died March 7, 1913 in Steedman, Callaway County, Missouri and was buried in Lawrence Cemetery, Steedman, Callaway County, Missouri.
