EARL FRANCIS ANGEVINE (1940 - 2012)

Earl Francis Angevine died peacefully on May 31, 2012, in Seattle, WA as a result of a sudden, unexpected brain hemorrhage.

He was born September 28, 1940 in Seattle, WA, the second child of Frank and Gerry Angevine.

He grew up in South Seattle at Three Tree Point, where his love of the water and boating began. He attended Briscoe Elementary School, O'Dea High School, Seattle University, and University of San Francisco, finishing his law degree at the University of Washington.

Earl began his law career in Yakima, WA where he met his future wife, JoAnn. They were married in Burien, WA August 20, 1966. They moved to Mount Vernon in 1967, where Earl accepted a position with the law firm of Bannister, Bruhn and Luvera. He served as Prosecuting Attorney in the early 1970's and entered private practice in 1976. He was an active member of the Washington State Bar Association. He was still actively practicing law until he became ill in 2011.

Earl loved music, playing piano and drums, most recently with the Jerry Jones Quintet. He loved attending jazz festivals and was an active member of the Puget Sound Traditional Jazz Society. He made many friends through his music.Earl also enjoyed traveling, including multiple trips to Europe, Maui and New Orleans. He was a very active member of Skagitonians to Preserve Farmland and multiple local community organizations.

Earl and JoAnn had two daughters, Sarah, born in 1968 and Katy, born in 1971.

Earl is survived by his wife of 46 years, JoAnn; daughters and their spouses: Sarah and Ken Duncan of Burlington and Katy and Tom Henderson of Edmonds; grandchildren: Matthew and Michael Moe, Kirby and Colby Duncan and Sydney Henderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and his brother, Roy.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012, 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm at St. Charles Catholic Church, 935 Peterson Road, Burlington.

The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 7, 2012, 10:30 am at St. Charles followed by a reception at the church. The Committal is scheduled for 3:00 pm at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 5041 35th Ave NE, Seattle.
