He was born June 28, 1927, in Gary to George and Alice Gransinger Talbert and spent his childhood in Sugar Creek Township.
A 1945 graduate of Sugar Creek High School, he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees at Ball State University. He was associated with various Indiana high schools for 19 years, both as a teacher and administrator.
Surviving are his stepmother, Hazel; a sister, Georgianne Minnich of Sheridan, two nephews and a niece.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Hinshaw Funeral Home, Sheridan, with Rev. Edwin Gwaltney officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirklin.
