Dewey was born near Rome, Wisconsin and attended Rome grade School. He owned a farm on Rome-Oak Hill Rd. He was employed at Allischalmers Mfg. Company in West Allis, Wisconsin for 7 years and farmed until his retirement.
He married Augusta Boerst. Gussie was a housewife who Enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and gardening. She worked in the kitchen at Bark River Lanes for many years, and was also actively involved with the March of Dimes Association.
Dewey and Gussie took great pride in their children and grandchildren and at one time even bought a pony for their grandchildren.
