She was born September 12, 1917, at Craney Creek in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was one of 19 children of the late James Willis (John Will) Sexton and Myrtle Perry Sexton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Moore on June 3, 1961, and Donald O. Moore on April 13, 1994.

Lucy's husband of 65 years, Ora Cecil Moore, whom she wed March 18, 1936, passed away March 27, 2001.

Survivors include two sons, James Cecil Moore and wife Barbara of Blairs Mill, Kentucky, and Bobby Allen Moore and wife Linda of Springtown, Texas; and one sister, Geneva Metzger and husband John of Dunkirk, New York.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, including her oldest grandchild, Donna Sargent and husband Tony, her caregivers, with whom she resided for many years in Blairs Mill, Kentucky; 34 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Lucy was a homemaker, self-taught artist, and musician who also enjoyed the great outdoors, reading, and working in flowers. She was a member of the Lower Licking Freewill Baptist Church. A beloved wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother, she will be missed by all.
