1925 ~ 2012
On Wednesday, May 30, 2012, our wonderful Papa, Dad, Pa, Grandfather, Brother & Friend, Clyde B. Andrus passed away at the age of 87.
Clyde was born on January 5, 1925 to Albert Leroy & Viola Grace Andrus. Married Betty May Hargis later divorced. On June 8, 1968 he married his lifetime sweetheart Darlene Smith Andrus.
Clyde retired from Kennecott Copper after 43 years of service. He was a Veteran of the US Army and served his country from 1945-1949. His unselfish giving of himself continues as he donated his body to science, contributing to the health & well being of generations to come. He left us as he lived, always thinking of others.
Clyde was 26 years sober and an avid member of Alcoholics Anonymous which became an extension of his family. The family sends a special thank you to his sponsor Pat & confidant Ernie.
Pa always did what he could to make his life better, never forgetting you become the man, the man doesn't become you. He was an honorable, gentle man and had a very positive nature.
Dad was well respected by those around him and was a great example to so many of us. We were always learning through him and without his knowing, he taught us the importance of being a good person and to live life without judgment, loving unconditionally.
Papa was a talented writer and poetry was a deep passion of his. He has left a legacy of short stories and poems and if you were ever fortunate enough to receive the gift of one of his writings, you were truly blessed.
Survived by his children, Lana Dockter, Tonya Andrus, Steve Howick (Corinne), Marty Andrus (Dianne), Sharma May (Jody), JanNette Andrus, Lisa Michials (Allen), Daughter in Law Debbie Howick, 25 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, Brother Bob & Sister Mary, Special Lady friend Barbara LeBreton.
Predeceased by his parents, sister Viola, wife Darlene Andrus, Sons Clyde (Bud) Andrus, Daniel Andrus, George Andrus, Kevin Howick; Daughter Lory Beal & 4 grandchildren.
