He was born October 21, 1914, in Sidney, Illinois, to Bert and Bessie Dean Pridemore Mullen. He married Beatrice Layne on August. 14, 1935, in Sidney. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Bill and Larry , one daughter, Marsha (Jim) Wilson, four sisters and six grandchildren. Three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
A member of Iron Workers Local 112 for 43 years, he worked on construction of air bases in Guam and the Panama Canal during World War II. He was a member of Sidney Christian Church and Sidney Masonic Lodge.
