Arthur W. "Bud" Berry, of Port Royal died Monday at his home. He was retired after 34 years as an environmentalist with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, a member of the New Castle Masonic Lodge #189 and member of the Port Royal Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Chester and Betty Norwood Berry, Jr.
He is survived by his wife Pat Taylor Berry, two sons, Gilbert Dwayne of Mt. Washington and Jerry Allen of Port Royal; two grandsons; one sister, Patricia Ann Lynch of Frankfort; and two brothers, Phillip N. Berry of Campbellsburg and James G. Berry of Owenton.
Funeral services are today at Prewitt New Castle Home in New Castle with Rev. Carl Rucker officiating and assisted by Wendell Berry of Port Royal.
Burial will be in the Port Royal Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association.
