A very surprising incident occurred when last week Mr. John Anderson, of Newmans store, and Miss Ella Miller were united in marriage by Judge Mason. The friends of the bride and groom wish them a long and happy future.

J. C. Anderson Dead.

John C. Anderson, 62, died unexpectedly at 10 o'clock Monday night at his home, 850 West Fifth. Mr. Anderson formerly was a car inspector for the Santa Fe, retiring a year ago last November.

Funeral arrangements have not been made.

John Clifford Anderson, son of the late Nelson Anderson and Martha Anderson, was born March 22, 1880, in Lawrence, and came to Emporia when a small boy. He married Ella Lillian Miller here December 25, 1901[2]. She died September 26, 1924, and in March, 1929, he married Mrs. Lena Allen, who survives him. Beside his wife, of the home, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Martha Anderson, 855 West Fifth; two sons, Carl Anderson, 1214 West Sixth, and Clifford Anderson, Ottumwa, Iowa, and three daughters, Miss Beatrice Anderson, 412 1/2 West Fifth; Mrs. Margaret Wisegarver, Newton, and Mrs. Elizabeth Toelle, Alexandria , La. He is also survived by three brothers, Blair Anderson, of Albany, N.Y.; Earl Anderson, Hollywood, Calif., and A.W. Anderson, 1414 Rural; two grandsons and a granddaughter.

Anderson Funeral Thursday

Funeral services for John C. Anderson, 850 West Fifth, who died Monday night, will be held Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral home. Burial will be in Maplewood cemetery.

Funeral services for John C. Anderson, who died Monday night at his home, 850 West Fifth, were held Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the Roberts-Blue Funeral home. Rev. R.R. Cronk, Emporia, and Rev. G.P. Gaede, of Marion, both of the Seventh Day Adventist church conducted the services. Marshall Randel sang, accompanied by Mrs. Glenn A. Blue. The pallbearers were O.T. Meyer, Willard Allen, E.H. Smith, Carl Toelle, T.C. Robinson and I.B. Evans. Burial was in Memorial Lawn.

Out-of-town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Max Wisegarver and children of Newton; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford H. Anderson, Ottumwa, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Toelle and L. Galletley, Topeka; Lawrence Smith, Council Grove; Mr. and Mrs. G.P. Gaede and Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Newsom, of Marion; Mrs. B.D. Bruton, of Dunlap; Mrs. Florence Hunt, Carbondale; Mr. and Mrs. Philip Blender, Saffordville.
