BOSSCHER, MR. HOWARD Grand Rapids Mr. Howard Jacob Bosscher, age 85, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. He grew up at the mission where his father was the administrater. Howard graduated from Wasatch Academy and then served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He attended Calvin College. As their Safety Supervisor, Howard worked for Associated Truck Lines, and then moved to Denver to become the Head of Safety Compliance and Hazardous Materials.

After retiring, Howard became an expert witness for the trucking industry in accident reconstruction. Much of his faith life was at East Leonard Christian Reformed Church and Arcadia Christian Reformed Church. Howard served as Elder and Deacon, and later became a member of La Grave Christian Reformed Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris; children, Richard Bosscher, Lynelle and Don Ussery, Patricia and Edward Newberg, and Sally and Christian Fortosis; eight grand hildren; six great grandchildren; brothers and sister, Arthur Bosscher, Mrs. Helen Dornbos, Harry Bosscher, and David (Natalie) Bosscher; sister-in-law, Mrs. Etta VanWingerden; sister-in-laws Marjorie Stuit, Gloria DeMaagd and Shirley DeMaagd and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Beatrice VanderKolk, Jay Bosscher, Ada Skarda, and Bob Bosscher.

The Service of Praise and Thanksgiving for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ for Mr. Bosscher will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at LaGrave Christian Reformed Church, 107 LaGrave Ave., SE, Grand Rapids, with Pastor John Steigenga officiating. Interment in Rockford Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Zuni Christian Mission School, 19C Pia Mesa Road, Zuni, NM 87327.
