Mrs. Hendrix worked with Duke Power before having children and leaving to dedicate her time and energy to her family.
She is the daughter of William H. and Ethel Johnson Phillips.
Surviving are two children: Steven M. Hendrix and Angela H. Harteg; two brothers: Carl Phillips and Ralph Phillips; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers: Dan Phillips and Charles Phillips.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2009, in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
