Joyce Louise Hinrichs, 82, of Red Wing, died Saturday, February 28, 2015, at her home, after having Parkinson’s disease for 14 years.

She was born on August 5, 1932, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Joseph and Louise (Albrecht) Weid. At a young age her family moved to Red Wing and she attended Red Wing Schools. On October 20, 1950, she married Harold Hinrichs at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Wing. For a few years she worked at the Red Wing Shoe Company. She was a member of United Lutheran Church and active in their circles. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, reading and spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her cats.

Survivors include her husband, Harold, married 64 years; three children, Larry (Donna) Hinrichs of Buckner, Missouri, Nancy (Jerry) Barth of Wacouta and Dan (Brenda) Hinrichs of Diamond Bluff; six grandchildren, Greg (Libby) Hinrichs, Joel Hinrichs, Summer (Jay) Ryan, Hailey (Adam) Bauer, Stephanie (Mike) Kirchner and Tiffany (Kenny) Gappa; two step-grandchildren, Shane (Jill) Anderson and Stacy (Zach) Siefert; 14 great grandchildren, William, Easton, Elle, Max, Shelby, Brady, Hunter, Drake, Charlie, Abby, Dylan, Luke, Mariah, Leah and Sterling; one brother, Richard Weid of Webster, Wisconsin and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015, at United Lutheran Church with Rev. Karl Rydholm officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Memorials are preferred to United Lutheran Church or Mayo Red Wing Hospice. The family would like to give special thanks to Joyce’s caregivers, Kari Bloomfield Rice, Kelly Florine, Meredith Norton, Dr. Amy DeJong and Dr. Karen Truitt, Mayo Red Wing Hospice and the staff and caregivers from United Lutheran Church.
