Ida was one of Louisburg's most outspoken and colorful characters. Her maiden name was Copeland and he was related to the Copelands of Chilhowee, Missouri, the owners of Blue Valley Shows which put on the Labor Day carnival in the Louisburg City Park for many years.
Ida and her husband "Pop" were also friends with President Harry Truman, who visited them at their hotel after he left office.
After Pop passed away, Ida married Ray Miller.
