William Edmond Davis Jr.
(December 11, 1948 - May 31, 2012)

William E. Davis Jr.,(Eddie), went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 31, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5 at the First Presbyterian Church in Itasca. Interment will follow at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home in Itasca.

Eddie was born on December 11, 1948 in Hillsboro, Texas. He attended Itasca Public Schools and Hill Jr. College. He served his country in the U.S. Army from August 1967 to August of 1971, serving 2 years in Vietnam. He reached the rank of Sargent. During his service he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 7 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Metal, 3 o/s Bars, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, and Expert Rifle.

He was a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church of Itasca, Texas where he served as an Elder. No job was to small or to large for him as he was strongly devoted to God and his church family that he loved so much. He was awarded a plaque by the Itasca Chamber of Commerce for his unfailing service to his community. Eddie also served as Commander of the local VFW for many years. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother and uncle to his family. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be deeply missed.

Eddie is survived by a close family who will treasure their memories of him and look forward to seeing him again in Heaven. Left to cherish those memories are his wife, Terri; sons, Gregory and Aaron; brother, Toby; sisters, Bettye and Susan; granddaughter, Aubriana, who was the light of his life; several nieces and nephews who adored their "uncle Eddie"; and a host of many other relatives and friends.

"He will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain..."Rev. 21:4
