FRANCES ELVIRA SHANKS: 55, died yesterday afternoon [5-30] at the Joint Twp Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since May 1. Death was attributed to complications folowing a 4 mos illness.
A native of Ashtabula Cnty OH, she was born 3 Jun 1901, a dau of the late Carleton & Alta Fenton Tidd. She was married 26 Jan 1943 to Earl Shanks who survivies. One brother-Clarence is deceased.
MrsShanks had been quite active up to the time she became ill in February, as a school teacher for 32 years. She had taught second grade in the New Bremen public schools for the past 9 years & before that had taught in the public schools in Rockcreek, Youngstown, Williamsfield & Vienna OH. She was a graduate of Williamsfield High School & attended Kent State University, Kent OH.
Services will be held Sunday afternoon [6-03] at the Vore & Folk Funrl Home with Rev Donald Shaw officiating. Graveside service will be held at the Kinsman Cem in Kinsman Monday afternoon.
