Phyllis Bowers D'Autrechy, 71, died Tuesday in Venice, Fla.
Mrs. D'Autrechy, formerly of Pennington, New Jersey, was a former sixth-grade teacher in the Riverton and Hopewell Valley Regional School districts and retired as the archivist for Hunterdon County. She was active in many genealogical and historical societies and served as a founder and charter member of the Hopewell Valley Historical Society and a trustee of the Hunterdon County Historical Society.
Mrs. D'Autrechy was the author of four books, several pamphlets and many articles of New Jersey and Hunterdon County interest. Her works included

She also served as the first woman president of the Hopewell Valley YMCA and chairwoman of its boys soccer and girls softball leagues. She was instrumental in founding the YMCA girls soccer program.
A former member of the Penelope Hart Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she served as the chairwoman of the Hopewell Valley Bicentennial Committee. She was the past historian of the First United Methodist Church of Pennington, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and a member of its administrative board. She and her family were former members of the Egg Harbor Guard, a reenactment unit of the American Revolution.
The wife of Theophile M. D'Autrechy of Venice, Fla., and Catonsville, Md., and the daughter of the late Emory and Gladys Bowers of Palmyra, she is survived by a daughter Lynne and her husband Granger Sutton and their two sons, Kyle and Ryan Sutton, all of Columbia, Md.; and a son Douglas and his wife Barbara of Basalt, Colo.
