Geraldine L. Hixson, 88, of Connellsville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, in UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh. She was born April 25, 1920, in Uniontown to the late James H. and Henrietta Geska Trump and had been a resident of Connellsville most of her life. She was a 1939 graduate of the former Scottdale High School and a member of the GBBA Retirees. Geraldine was a very active and longtime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Connellsville, where she was a member of the adult Sunday school class with perfect attendance for 40 years, taught the nursery Sunday school class for many years, was a member of the Sunday School Association and took care of the Cradle Roll for 25 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister to her family. She will be missed sadly but remembered fondly by her loving husband, Roy E. Hixson, with whom she would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Nov. 24; wonderful daughters, Carolyn F. Kerns and husband Ron, Beverly J. Dusha and husband Joe and Marcia A. Davis and husband Fred, all of Connellsville, and Deborah K. McGann and husband Michael "Mickey," of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Ron Kern Jr. and wife Kimberly, David M. Dusha, Lori Ann Herman and husband Dan and Christina R. Dusha, all of Connellsville; stepgrandson, Steve Davis and Twila, of Connellsville; great-grandchildren, Shelby E. and Joshua M. Kerns; stepgreat-grandchildren, Melissa Beal and Colby Davis; stepgreat-great-grandchild, Hayle; brothers, William Trump and wife Marlene, of Mesquite, Nev., and Donald Trump and wife Helen, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and numerous loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Geraldine was predeceased by brother James Trump and sister-in-law Betty Trump. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville. A prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 10 in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dennis Roser officiating. A committal service and interment will be in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Geraldine L.
