Mr. Alton Ray Anderson, age 74, of Traphill Estates Road, Traphill died Friday, June 1, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 3, at 3:00 at Liberty Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. David Sparks and the Rev. Bobby Trott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive at Liberty Grove Baptist Church from 1:30 until 2:45 prior to the service.
Mr. Anderson was born in McDowell Co, WV, on October 12, 1937, to Guy Robert and Edna Gertrude Grimes Anderson. He was a member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Anderson was retired from Saffelle, Inc. of Hillsbourgh, NC.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by great grandson, Grayson Anderson.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Louise Johnson Anderson of the home; one daughter, Barbie Anderson and Eddie Bowen of Traphill; one son, Dennis Anderson and wife, Debbie of Traphill; one sister, Anna Wyatt and husband, Buford of North Wilkesboro; one brother, Terry Anderson and wife, Janice of North Wilkesboro; two grandchildren, Scott Anderson and wife, Jenny and Jessica Anderson and fiancée, Joel Hendren; three great grandchildren, Ashleigh Anderson, Owen Anderson, Brooke Johnson; two sister-in-laws, Cora Combs of North Wilkesboro and Shelby Dunton of Greensboro; two brother-in-laws, R. C. Johnson, Jr. and wife, Etta Mae of North Wilkesboro and Luther Marlow and wife, Rosalee of Sparta
