Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Jane Helm, 74 years of age, were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Elkhorn Methodist Church with the Rev. J.A. McDowell in charge. Burial was in the Elkhorn Cemetery. Mrs. Helm died June 30 [1958] at 7:40 o'clock at her home in the White's Ridge section, Elkhorn, Rt. 1. Mrs. Helm, a native of Adair County, was first married to Tom Elliott, who died some 49 years ago, and then she was married to William Helm who preceded her 44 years ago. Mrs. Helm had been in bad health for the past year and had been confined to her bed for the past several weeks. Children surviving are: Mrs. Delmer Baldwin, Rt. 1, Elkhorn, Henry Helm, Shepherdsville, and Fred Helm, Elkhorn, Rt. 1. She also leaves 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Luther Holmes, Rushville, IN, Elvin Holmes, Mannsville, Mrs. Effie Hughes, Mrs. Addie Williams and Miss Matra Holmes, all of Elkhorn, Rt. 1. One infant died at birth. The pallbearers were Roscoe Holmes, Rufus Holmes, David Williams, Joseph Williams, Chester Hughes and Elmer Hughes.
