Son of Robert J. Hilton (b. 1824 VA) and Jeanetta B. Trent (b. 1827 VA). Daniel married Mary Ann Cretsinger (b. 1856 TN, d. before 1907 TN) on July 2, 1890 in Hamblen County, TN. They had 6 children together before Mary Ann's death (which was said to be a suicide). Birth date on headstone would seem to be wrong as Virginia birth registers indicate that Daniel was born on June 9th, 1861 in Montgomery County, VA.
