OBITUARY
William Eugene Farris, 92, of Corbin, KY, went to be with Jesus on Monday, November 29, 2010, at the Baptist Regional Medical Center, Corbin, KY. His daughter and daughter-in-law were at his side as he entered Heaven.

Bill was a born again Christian and had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ his Savior and Lord.

Bill was born November 12, 1918, in Corbin, Whitley Co., KY He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy McKinley Farris and Nancy Mamie Buchanan Farris; his wife, Hazel Lockhart Farris, married November 26, 1947; an infant son, William Dean Farris; and a sister, Mary Louise Howell.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Billie Jean Farris Brown, his son, Bruce Edward Farris, son-in-law, Ronald Lee Brown and daughter-in-law, Karen Lisa Gregory Farris; grandsons: Zachery Tyson Brown, Andrew Jared "AJ" Brown, William Ethan Farris and Bruce Ehren Farris; brothers: Charles Leon Farris and John Daniel Farris; and a sister, Anna Ruth Farris Philpot.

Visitation: 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at the O'Neil Funeral Home.

Funeral service: 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010, at the O'Neil Funeral Home.

Interment: Pine Hill Cemetery, Corbin, Knox Co., KY.

Bill was a WWII Army Air Force veteran. He served in the Aleutian Islands during the war years.

Bill worked at the YMCA as manager until the facility closed in 1968. Bill sold cars until he retired with arthritis on disability in 1979.

Bill attended and taught a Sunday School class at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Corbin, KY and a deacon there for many years. He was a member of Central Baptist of Corbin, KY at his death.

Bill loved his family...his children and grandsons meant the world to him.

Bill most of all loved the Lord.

Bill had a stroke November 23, 2010, at The Heritage in Corbin, KY. He was hospitalized and lived only a week after the stroke.
