Irene Duckworth

Irene Ethel Duckworth, 81, Brookfield, died today (Saturday, November 24, 1989) at Perching Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday (November 25, 1989) in the Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Kelley and the Rev. Phil Neimeyer will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Duckworth, daughter of Sam R. and Irene (Chapman) Truman, was born March 7, 1918 in Detroit, Mich. On June 26, 1939 she was married to Harry B. Duckworth in Columbia, Ohio. He died Jan. 31, 1974.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Col. Robert and Doris Duckworth, Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Charles Moshier, Columbus, Ohio, and Virginia and Ron Rowland, St. Peters, Mo., one step-brother, James Truman, Easton, Penn., one half-brother, Robert Truman, Roseville, Mich., two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Langdon, Brookfield, and Marjorie Conner, Columbus, Ohio, and one brother-in-law, Vernon Duckworth, Marceline. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.
Mrs. Duckworth was a Brookfield R-3 School dietitian; she served as lunch room director for 26 years, before retiring in July 1981. She was an honorary lifetime member of Brookfield R-3 FHA/FFA and a chapter mother. She and her husband owned and operated a local restaurant (Klondike) from 1940-1953. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, its Amanitas group, and the Eagles Auxiliary 2463.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday (November 25, 1989) at Hill Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 o'clock.
Memorials have been suggested for the Brookfield Trinity United Methodist Church.
