Donna June Trexler, age 94 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Donna was born July 18, 1917 in Wabash, Indiana to Dr. Floyd and Edith (Burnsworth) Walters.
She resided in her younger years in Wabash, IN and Peru, IN before moving to Florida. She was married to Earl Trexler who preceded her in death. Donna and her husband Earl moved to Ocala in 1970. Donna worked for Sears until her retirement in 1980. Her interests were flower arranging, traveling, and gardening. She loved helping her family members as well as many friends. In all of her travels, her happiness and joy of life was recognized and celebrated. Donna was an active member of the Pioneer Garden Club. She enjoyed designing floral arrangements and made the floral arrangements for Hospice for over 20 years. Donna was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ocala.
Her children are: Patricia (Ron) Coleman, deceased; Terry Trexler, Ocala, FL; Janet Trexler (daughter - in- law), Ocala, FL; Sharon (Robert) Allman, Summerfield, FL; and Cynthia (Colen) Holland, Gainesville, FL. Donna has 11 grandchildren: Richard (Diana) Coleman, Tipton, IN; Terry (Lynn) Coleman, Belleview, FL; Connie (Kevin) Deason, Carmel, IN; Terri (Chris) Yancey, Ocala, FL; Thomas (Diane) Trexler, Ocala, FL; Lisa (Chris) Alexander, Ocala, FL; Kathy (Charles) Graves, Oveido, FL; Mike (Lisa) King, Tipton, IN; Julie (David) Benjamin, Fairfax, VA; and Deanne (Mike) Below, Danville, IN. She has 26 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Donna is also survived by her sisters Angeline Yarian, Bourbon, IN and Ruth Vawter, Indianapolis, IN. One brother, Robert Walters and sister, Janet Walters Thompson, also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Friday, June 1, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hiers - Baxley Funeral Home, 910 E. Silver Springs Boulevard, Ocala, FL.
Services will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Ocala, FL. In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made to the Pioneer Garden Club, Ocala, FL.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru, IN.
