Funeral services were held Thursday of last week at 2:30 pm in the Oak Grove Mennonite Brethren in Christ church southwest of Wakarusa for Evin Hygema, 55, a farmer of rural route, Lakeville. Rev W E Mangus district superintendent was in charge of the service. With burial in South Union cemetery southwest of Wakarusa.

Mr Hygema was born in Madison township St Joseph county, Sept 12, 1891, and had lived near Lakeville 29 years, moving from Madison township.

His marriage to Cora Schalliol took place April 16, 1910.

Surviving are his widow; four daughters, Mrs Mabel Annis, Mrs Treva Hoffman and Mrs Erma Miller, of Lakeville, and Mrs Fern Fietz, rural route No 2 Bremen, Indiana; three sons, Kenneth, Plymouth, Ind; Donald, Lakeville, and Ervin, Jr, Bremen; a brother, Rev William Hygema, Dayton, O, and four sisters, Mrs Irvin Wise, Nappanee, Ind; Mrs Charles Weldy, Middlebury, Ind, and Mrs Mabel Ummel and Miss Grace Hygema, Wakarusa, Ind.

A son Clyde, died in 1918.
