Daughter of Bertha Olson (1851-1923), who is buried in Olivet Cemetery on the Lincoln and Payne County line. Celia was married to George B. Pounds. They had eight children, and she died in childbirth with the ninth. Buried in the NE corner of the cemetery, Celie originally had a marker, but it was made of sandstone, and time and the elements have long since consumed it. In her day the cem. was called Dewey. Nowadays it is usually known as Pollick.

The local newspaper, "The People's Press" out of Perkins, carried an obituary in the Grand Center column written by "Topsy," a column which included news from Merrick as well as Grand Center. On March 29, 1906, Topsy's column included this paragraph:

"Died at her present home on the old Clint Randall place, Friday March 23, Mrs. Celia Pounds. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Garner and interment took place Saturday at the Dewey Cemetery. Her infant child was buried the preceding Tuesday. The deceased was the oldest daughter of Mrs. Olson of this district. She leaves a husband, mother, sister, brother, and eight children besides neighbors and friends to mourn her untimely death. The bereaved have the sympathy of the entire community."
