FUNERAL AT WAYNE FOR HERMAN TJADEN
Herman Dietrich Tjaden died at the John McDonald hospital Thursday morning after a long illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. (today) Monday at the Wayne Zion Lutheran church with Rev. F. H. Kehren officiating. Burial will be in the Wayne Zion Lutheran cemetery.
He was born Oct. 5, 1880, at Wisedermer, Germany, the son of Gerhard and Frauke Bodeker Tjaden, and came to the U.S. in 1905. He returned to Germany and married (Wllhelmina Langerenken)Jan. 20, 1910, and returned to the U.S. the same year. He lived in Jones county for the rest of his life except 10 years spent in Kimball, S. D. He was preceded in death by his wife Jan. 2, 1942.
Survivors include his children, Mrs. John (Elsie) Wacker and Mrs. William H. (Frieda) Lubben, both of Monticello, Henry of Springvilie,
John of Anamosa, Richard of Monticello and Rudolph of Anamosa; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Staffers and Mrs. Gesina Heeren, both of Anamosa; three brothers, Carl of Maquoketa, Edward of Onslow and Henry of Martelle, 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
