SCOTTDALE Carl Thomas Harmening, 48, of Alverton, R. D. 3, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning in St. Francis General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He had been admitted there early m June. He was born Feb. 1, in Connellsville. He was a member of St. John's R. C. Church of Scottdale. He was employed by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, as a conductor. He was former scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop No. 155. He was institutional representative for 'the troop at the time of his death. He also was past chairman of Catholic scouting. He was a World War II veteran. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Fidelis Donnelly Harmening of Camp Springs, Md.; his widow, Mrs. Barbara Mary Ward Harmening; two sons, John Carl and Gregory Mark, at home; a daughter, Theresa Lee, at home; two brothers, Fred of Camp Springs, Md., and the Rev. Adrian Harmening of Richmond, Va., and a sister, Miss Elizabeth of "Camp Springs, Md.
