ORRINGTON - Ethelyn M. Morrill, 86, wife of the late James P. Morrill Sr., died Nov. 27, 2008, at her home surrounded by family. She was born March 16, 1922, in Orrington, the daughter of Lewis and Marion (Baker) Atwood.

Ethelyn was a lifelong resident of South Orrington, where she raised her children. She was a woman of patience and integrity, and was a proud dedicated homemaker and a mother to many. Her talents and enjoyments were many which include spending time at camp, fishing, cooking, building and crafting, tending livestock, quilting, sewing and reading.

Surviving are five children, Earland Morrill of Bucksport, Coleen Dicesare of Holden, Maurine Jordan and her husband, Stuart, of Westbrook, Debra Morrill of Orrington and James Morrill Jr. and his wife, Denise, of Orrington; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; a son-in-law, Bill Gould of Orrington; a special sister-in-law, Myrtle of South Carolina; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; a daughter, Martha Gould; and her siblings, Earl Atwood, Ruth Grant and Lillian Barbour.

A service honoring Ethelyn's life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, with the Rev. Randy Washington, presiding.

Private burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Orrington.
