CHARLES MARTHENS
Charles Marthens, a printer in Pittsburg for many years, died yesterday in his home, 612 Murtland ave., Eastend. He was a veteran of the Civil war, having enlisted here in 1861 in Co.B, Twelfth regiment, Pennsylvania volunteers. He was discharged in August of that year but re-enlisted the same month in Co.A One Hundred and Second Pennsylvania volunteers and was again discharged in 1864 near Winchester Va. He was a member of the G.A.R. and the Union Veterans Legion. He is survived by three sons; Charles F., Washington; William S., Philadelphia, and George W. Marthens, Pittsburg, and two daughters Mrs. Lulu A. Aldrich and Mrs. W.W. Evans, Pittsburg.
