Following an illness of several months Mathias Deimerly passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Fagan in Clarion on Wednesday evening, August 7, 1935, due to infirmities of age. Funeral services were held the following Saturday at 9:30 at St. John's Church with Father Churchill in charge. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery.

Mr. Deimerly was born at Sehndorf, Germany, on November 4, 1852, being nearly 83 years of age at the time of his death. Mr. Deimerly was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Deimerly and was left an orphan at the age of 5. He came to America in 1875, at the age of 22, settling at Harper, Iowa. On February 10, 1880, he was married to Theresa Hahn at Baden, Iowa. Four children were born to this union.

Mr. Deimerly came to Wright County in 1888, where he has resided for 47 years, living on a farm west of Clarion. On retiring from activity he moved to Clarion where he has made his home for 23 years. Mrs Deimerly preceded her husband in death on October 28, 1910, and a daughter, Mrs. Mary McHale, passed to her reward on May 7, 1932. Those surviving are: Mrs. Anna Fagan, Mrs. Tillie Amsbaugh, and Sebastian Deimerly. Mr. Deimerly was a kind husband and father and respected by all who knew him for his honesty and upright dealings.

Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral were: Mrs. Margaret Young of Sigourney, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Snakenburg, Mike Wallerick and Alfred of Ollie, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wade of Klemme, and Toney Ascherla and daughter of Duncombe.
