Marion Stella (Braatz) Oas (24), William Albert "Bill" Oas (28), and their two children, Edward James and Carol Jean, attended a big family farewell gathering at North Lake near Munising, where Marion & Bill were both born, because Tech Sgt Bill Oas had been transferred to Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, AZ. A week later, they were both killed when a drunk driver passing on a curve hit them head-on in Spokane, WA. Their children survived.
