Eva Butler known to everyone as "Mimi" passed away peacefully in her sleep, at the age of 98 years.

She was born in Shady Grove, Texas the daughter of Allen and Lula Seale, both of whom served as sheriffs of Dallas County.

She was the fifth of nine children, all of whom preceded her in death.

She married Walter Edmond Butler on September 4, 1928. He predeceased her on January 9, 1969.

During her lifetime, she was a homemaker and the co-owner of the B & W Printing and Letter Service. After retiring, she did volunteer work for the American Heart Association and was an avid cook and gardener and was a member of the Edgefield Church of Christ.

In 1996, she moved to Longview, Texas to be near her daughter Elaine, and became a member of Alpine Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Gibson and her husband, Richard of Longview, Texas; her son Allen Butler and his wife, Sally of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Camille Gibson; Glen Gibson and his wife, Elizabeth; Arlene Mayes and her husband Shawn; Marcella Butler; Rowland Butler and his wife, Elaine; Murray Butler; and Edmond Butler. She is also survived by great grandchildren Rachel and Laura Gibson; Mitchell, Riley, and Kelcy Mayes; and Wheeler, Lula, and Ellie Butler; and many nieces and nephews.

The pallbearers are her grandsons: Glen, Rowland, Murray, Edmond and Shawn.

The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to her devoted care givers, Joyce Dorsett, Pat Fulgham, Becky Sheffield, and Vicki Police.
