Mrs. Sylvia Satterfield, 48 of Arvin, mother of Deputy Sheriff Bert Satterfield, 15260 Nadene Street, passed away in Kern General Hospital on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Her death was caused by burns suffered during a gas explosion and fire while helping a family move into a house on an Arvin Ranch. Mr. Gilphard B. Satterfield is still in critical condition.
She is survived by her husband; one son, Bert Jr.; one daughter, Delma Geary of Tehachapi.
Services will be held Friday, Nov. 4 at 2:00 p.m.
