Aubrey "Thomas" Hatcher, 51, of 117 Forest View Drive, Beckley, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at his home following a sudden illness. Born in Stotesbury, he was the son of the late Tracy A. and Minnie Bell Pitsenbarger Hatcher.
Mr. Hatcher was a heavy equipment operator for Kingston Resource Inc., Kingston. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1990 with 20 years service and a rank of E8 master sergeant.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Debra Hankins Hatcher; a daughter, Angela Gibson and her husband, Bobby, of Columbus, Ohio; seven brothers, Tracy A. Hatcher and his wife, Mirella, of Gordon, Ga., James F. Hatcher and his wife, Wanda, of Orlando, Fla., Orville R. Hatcher and his wife, Jerry, of Midway, Garnett Hatcher and Daniel C. Hatcher, both of Providence, R.I., Dale Hatcher of Sophia and Randall Hatcher and his wife, DeeDee, of Beckley; a sister, Eleanor Meadows of Sophia; and a grandson, Sebastian Blake Thomas Gibson. Service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with Dr. David Carrico officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements by Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley.
