Violet Allen was born March 3, 1922in Davenport, VA and departed this life Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at her residence, being 93 years of age. She was the daughter of the late John Frank Griffey Street & Eva N.(Boyd)Street. (Correction made per relative).
Violet is survived by four children, Debbie (Wade) Nicholson and Dennis (Diana) Allen of Annville, Randy (Debra) Allen of Manchester and Mike (Karen) Allen of Winchester. She was blessed with twelve grandchildren, Steven Allen, Krista Abney, Shanna Lea Allen, Justin Allen, Dustin Collett, Misty Allen, Katie Allen, Anna Allen, Cole Allen, Faith Allen, Colby Nicholson & Kelsey Nicholson and by three great grandchildren, Brenna Allen, Jakob Allen & Maggie Parker Collett.
In addition to parents, Violet was also preceded in death by her husband, Ewin "Shorty" Allen; by a brother, Orville Street and by two sisters, Ruth Hoskins and Delores Elliott.
Violet was a member of the Bond Baptist Church.
Funeral service was held 3:00PM Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Denny McCowan officiating. Burial followed in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Laurel County. Pallbearers were Dr. David Hays, Steven Allen, Justin Allen, Dustin Collett, Colby Nicholson and Cole Allen. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
