CHARLES WAYNE ALLEY

C. Wayne Alley, 62, of 29 Palmer Ave., Mill Hall, Clinton County, died at 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 1986 at his home. He had been in failing health for the past five months. Born June 12, 1923, in Huntingdon, he was the son of Charles T. and Alma M. (Bonsell) Alley. He was united in marriage to Margaret Shope on Sept. 27, 1947, in Tyrone.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Gary Alley of Solona; two daughters, Mrs. Steve (Deborah) Hill of Mill Hall and Mrs. David (Natalie) Swope of Lock Haven; and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Alley was a member of the Flemington United Methodist Church, and he attended the Laurel Run Methodist Church. He was a member of the VFW Post in Huntingdon, the Lock Haven American Legion, the Lock Haven Moose Lodge, the Jersey Shore Antlers Club and Lock Haven Elks Lodge No. 182, of which he was a trustee.

He organized and managed the Budget Plan Finance Corporation in Lock Haven from 1953 to 1982. Previously, he had worked at the Budget Plan office in Tyrone, and before that, at the A & P store in Huntingdon.

A veteran of the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II, he served in Rome, Northern and Southern France, the Rhineland and the Northern Apennines. He took part in the Po Valley air offensive in the Balkans and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the European-African Middle Eastern Service Medal with seven Bronze Stars.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 2, at the Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven. The Rev. Norman Spangler and the Rev. Viola Tyson will officiate. Interment will be made in the Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
