Ruth May Wilson
Ruth May Wilson, 79, 423 N. W. Ninth St., died Saturday, Sept. 4 at Reid Hospital after a long illness.
She was born Sept. 1, 1914 in Richmond to James and Ethel Manis Hoover, and had lived here all her life. She was a 20-year member of the Church of the Nazarene, where she had been a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include her husband Cecil E. Wilson, whom she married July 15, 1933; two daughters Barbara J. Houser of Richmond and Carolyn Andrew of Cambridge City; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; four sisters, Pauline Brockman of Colorado, Milly Hofer of Cambridge City, Shirley Plummer of Connersville, Betty Ramey of Fort Wayne; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother.
Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept 8, at the First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev R. D. Jack Sutherland officiating. Burial will be in the Chester Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Doan & Mills Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
Ruth's grandparents were Frank Hoover and Luella Pickett Hoover Chant, and Lester Mannis and Cora Gibson Manis Wylie.
Her step grandparents were Arthur Chant and Kenneth "Scottie" Wylie and Augusta Mannis.
