Ronald W. Cole, age 67, of Portage, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2003. He was a former Hobart resident and retired from U.S. Steel with 40 years of service. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Merrillville. Ronald loved baseball especially watching the Cubs, and was a music enthusiast. He also loved traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine J. Cole of Portage; one daughter, Gail (Herb) Kukulies of Valparaiso; three granddaughters, Angel (Brian) Hertaus, Amber and Alexa Kukulies; two great-grandchildren, Kayne and Leyah Hertaus, all of Valparaiso. He was preceded in death by his father, William Fay Cole and his mother, Margie Jacks.
Funeral Services are Thursday, May 15, 2003 at 8:00 PM at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN, with Rev. Duane Schmidt officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation is Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, just prior to the funeral service, at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
