Gertrude Maxwell was born September 25, 1900, at Ashton, Iowa, the daughter of Bernhard and Pernella (Auen) Graves. She was married December 23, 1920, to Charles Maxwell at Sibley, Iowa. They farmed all their life in the Ashton area.
She is survived by seven children: Fern, Mrs. Leo Strouth of Brewster, MN; Dale of George, IA; Donald of Ashton, IA; Ardel of Worthington, MN; Juanita, Mrs. Richard Gunderman of Fulda, MN; Ronalda, Mrs. Dennis Zylstra of Spencer, IA and Janice of Ashton, IA; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Tena, Mrs. Ed W. Ackerman of Ashton.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1964, her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
