Miss Elizabeth V. McElwee, of Washington, D.C., a native of Mount Carmel, died abroad ship Saturday morning while returning from a cruise to the Hawaiian Islands.
She suffered a fatal heart attack on the S.S. Lurline just before it docked in San Francisco. With her on the vacation cruise was her sister, Mrs. J. Grant Kehler, formerly of east Second street, Mount Carmel, now of Collingswood, N.J.
Miss McElwee was born in Mount Carmel, a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Mary A. (Lindner) McElwee. She had been residing at 705 18th street, N.W. Washington D.C. where for 38 years she was an employee of the Navy Department until her retirement a year and a half ago.
