ATHENS -- Mrs. Ada McConkey, 64, of 7 Carol Lane, The Plains, was dead on arrival at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital Thursday evening. She was taken there by The Plains emergency squad.
A lifelong Athens County residence, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Lena Leake. Mrs. McConkey was a graduate of Glouster High School, was a member of the Chauncey Christian Church and of the Athens Chapter 175 Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn V.; a son, Gary N. of Belpre; two grandsons, Scott and Ryan, both of Belpre; and a sister, Mrs. Walter (Garnet) Leffler, Chauncey.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald, and a brother, Ray Leake.
Services will be Sunday, 1 p.m. in the Hughes Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Saum officiating. Burial will be in the West Union Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
