Chester joined the US Army and spent 3 and 1/2 years on a Navy ship serving with Battalion B assisgned to the Defense of the Chesapeake Bay Harbor, where they layed mines along the eastern coast of the US. He worked in the textile mills. Married Anne Hedwiga Kochanek on 04 October 1944 at Saint Joseph's Catholic Chuch in Central Falls, RI. Together they had 4 children. Chester retired as Shipper from Harry Ball & Son Textile Company.
