From Der Nord Westen, 15 Sep. 1904:
Death recently in Sheboygan, following a long illness, of Fritz Becker, a former resident of our city who has lived in Sheboygan since 1892. The deceased was born 25 Jan. 1844 in the Province of Saxony, and in 1857 came with his parents directly from Germany to Manitowoc. Here he married Elizabeth Franz, the eldest daughter of the late John Franz, who now survives him along with 2 daughters as well as several sisters. The deceased served for a while with the 45th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment during the war. His body will be brought here tomorrow morning and interred at the city cemetery.
