She was born Sept. 20, 1908 in the town of Addison to George and Mary (nee Bath) Schellinger, and married Henry A. Wiedmeyer on Jan. 8, 1929 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford.
Thecla and her husband farmed in the town of Herman for 17 years.
In 1946, they moved to Addison Center where they operated a garage and repair shop for 24 years.
Thecla worked for General Telephone Co. for 11 years until the company went on dial.
She also worked at Hilltop Nursing Home for eight years and Gateway Nursing Home in Hartford for five years.
After her husband died in 1980, she moved into Cedar Ridge in 1986.
Thecla was a member of Holy Angels Parish in West Bend. She was also a member of the Christian Women's Society and the Apostolate of Suffering.
Thecla is survived by one sister, Loretta Schellinger of West Bend; and two sisters-in-law, Lucy Wiedmeyer of West Bend and Aurelia (Lawrence) Heller of Milwaukee.
She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and very special friends, Dennis and Mary Murphy and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Wiedmeyer; and four sisters and eight brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. at Holy Angels Parish in West Bend, with Father Gerald Brittan officiating.
Family will greet relatives and friends Wednesday at Holy Angels Church from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Inurnment will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Nenno.
Memorials to the Holy Angels Parish or the charity of one's choice are appreciated.
