Thomas J Lynott age 79, a resident of Dublin, Ireland for the past 12 years, and formerly of Scranton, passed away Sunday morning at his home in Dublin. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann (Peggy) Roche Lynott. Wed on June 7,2000, the couple were married for 11 years.
Born in Scranton on June 5,1932, son of the late Thomas and Winifred Bird Lynott. Thomas worked in small business development prior to his retirement. Of Roman Catholic faith, he was a former member of St Paul's Church in Green Ridge section of Scranton. He had received many merit awards for his tireless work efforts and selfless contributions to the Mount Carmel area.
Gone but certainly not forgotten, he will be dearly missed by all of his loving relatives and friends in Dublin.
He is also survived by his daughter, Winifred (Winnie)Fracalossi of Mount Carmel, and her sons, Sean and Ryan; and his sons, Brian Lynott of Yardley; and his son Michael Thomas Lynott of Mount Carmel; and his sons Casey and Tommy; and Gerard Lynott and his wife Deidre of Haymarket, Virginia and their children, Jordan Reid; Michael and Danny; and several brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
Also preceding in death was a brother John (Jack) Lynott in 1987.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday to begin at 9:15 a.m. from the Kearney Funeral Home,Inc, 125 North Main avenue, Scranton, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St Paul's Church, 1510 Penn avenue in Scranton, to be celebrated by Msgr. William J Feldcamp, Pastor.
Interment with full military rites by the AMVETS Honor Guard will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday between 5-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home
