B. Stanley Brehm, 70, of 56 E. Main St., Plainfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998, at his home.
Born Aug. 21, 1927 in Plainfield, he was the son of the late George Harper and Ruth Boyd Brehm.
He retired after 47 years of service with Union Quarries Inc. of Carlisle, formerly the J. F. Sours Quarry. A Lutheran, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Cumberland County Pool League and a life member of West Pennsboro Township Fire Company.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Betty M. Lightner Brehm; a son, Stanley L. of Carlisle; four daughters, Shirley A. Bowermaster of Homosassa, Fla., Judy E. Brehm of Cottonwood, Calif., Sandra L. Hawkins and Terrie J. Coy, both of Carlisle; a sister, Treva Weary, Newville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Sandra Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Township.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
