Bertha Irene "Maw" Jones, age 94, of Ouachita City, LA., passed away May 25, 2012 in Farmerville, LA. Arrangements will be handled by Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville, Louisiana with visitation beginning Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 5:00 pm ending at 8:00 pm. Funeral services will follow on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 3:00 pm in the Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Ouachita City Cemetery. Bro. Kurt Auger will officiate.

Irene was born in Sparkman, Ark., On Jan 28, 1918 to Thaddeus and Rillie Mae Johnson Hatcher. After moving from Arkansas she settled in Ouachita City and married Ed Jones and started her family. She is the last original resident of Ouachita City, LA.
Irene was an avid "fisherwoman" Give her a bucket, a box of worms and a rod and reel and she could fish that bank all day. She loved to catch those little catfish because she thought those were the good ones to eat. She was also noted for always having enough food to feed anyone who dropped by her house at any time, especially during hunting season.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, of 62 years Ed Jones, and two grandchildren, Ricky and Cubby Jones.

She is survived by her children: son, Raymond Jones and wife Betty, daughter, Eloise Nunez and husband Johnny, son, Ronnie Jones and wife Trinky, daughter, Marilyn Davis and husband Robert. She was blessed to have 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A special son, Tommy Ormond and wife Evalyn.

Pallbearers are the grandsons: Doug Nunez, Mike and Eddie Jones, Mark and Mickey Jones, Chris Mike and Bubba Gill.
