Jessie Elizabeth Conwell (Betty), 95, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014, in Globe, Ariz.

Betty was born in 1918 in Durango, Colo. She lived her childhood on a farm in the Bayfield, Colo. area. Following high school she married Jesse Jameson and had their first child, Vinton, in 1939.

In 1942 they moved to Globe/Miami area and shortly after had a baby girl, Shirley. She has lived in the Miami/Globe area for 72 years.

She worked at Inspiration Copper Company as a telephone operator and later at Globe Electric in Globe. Betty married Cleland Conwell in 1960, and moved to Skyline, where she lived until her death.

Betty was very active in the community. She was a member of the toast master, homemakers club, Bridge Club, Grey Ladies at Gila County Hospital and Globe Book Club. She was a 50-year Pin member of Emblem Club and Daughter of the Nile.

She served one year as State President of Arizona & Texas Emblem Club. She was active in Emblem Club in Globe and Show Low until the later years of her life.

She was survived by daughter, Shirley (Don); five grandchildren, Craig (Bonnie), Colby, Robert (Donna), Annette (Wayne), and Paula (Rus); 13 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Cleland, brother; Robert and son, Vinton.

The family especially wants to thank Betty's caregivers who made her last year full of laughter and joy.

As we gather for her farewell, her family and friends will remember her sense of humor, quick wit and her loving kisses and hugs. She will be missed.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Bulman Miles Funeral Services Chapel in Globe, Ariz.
