Rebecca LYCAN Davies was first wife of Walter Davies, my GGGgrandfather. (Their first child was named John Lycan Davies.) Their dtr Rebecca Jean/Jane Davies/Davis was married to John McDowell. Online I find birth for both Rebecca Lycan & Walter Davies listed as Wales but I've not been able to get a response OR verification of that info from any who have it listed as such. I believe that somewhere along the line, a researcher determined that Davies is a Welsh name & just filled in the blank as fact. I have found an Andrew Lycan/Lykens in Penn, whose wife was Jane Cahoon (Calhoon) & whose dtr Rebecca was born in 1736. Coincidentally, the will of Walter Davies was witnessed by Charles and Samuel Calhoon. Don't know that this info belongs on Find A Grave but someone might pick it up & prove my thought that Walter Davies & wife Rebecca Lycan Davies married in Pennsylvania.
