An accomplished watercolorist who also enjoyed gardening, she retired from the U.S Department of the Interior, Office of Surface Mining, having previously worked at Washington and Lee High School and Bishop Denis J. O'Connell High School (both in Arlington). She was the valedictorian of the Byesville High School Class of 1944 and attended Ohio State University. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lewis Corum, and siblings Peter, Mary V., Leo C., Jr. and Michael D. Mesarchik.
Graveside services will take place on Monday, March 7th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd., Arlington, VA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Renaissance Gardens at Greenspring Village, 7470 Spring Village Drive. Springfield, VA.
